Ich bin Musikjournalist und Musiker aus Berlin, meine Spezialgebiete sind Jazz und Worldmusic. Seit 1989 mache ich Radiosendungen. Außer für multicult.fm arbeite ich auch für andere Radiosender in Deutschland und schreibe für diverse Print- und Online-Magazine.
Mit zehn begann ich Gitarre zu lernen, heute spiele ich Percussion, Posaune, E-Bass und Blues-Harp. Jazz durfte ich mit der großartigen Connie Jo Kirk aus Austin, Texas spielen, Latino-Jazz, keltische Musik, südafrikanischen Jazz und Brasilianisches mit Geraldo Lucio und anderen.
Im Moment spiele ich mit Los Multikultis (myspace). Wir spielen Musik von rund-um-die-Welt: Balkan, Kuba, Brasilien, Indonesien und viel mehr!
Wenn ich nicht gerade auf einem Konzert an den Congas stehe oder bei multicult.fm am Micro, dann reise ich am liebsten in all die Länder, aus denen die Musik kommt, die ich am liebsten mag, wie Südafrika, Brasilien, Ghana, Kuba, Schottland...
I am a music jounalist and musician based in Berlin/Germany, specialized in jazz and world music. I have been doing radio shows since 1989. I work for multicult.fm in Berlin and other German radio stations and write for print and online magazines.
As a musician I started with the guitar at 10, but today I play latin percussion, trombone, electric bass and blues harp. I have played jazz with the great singer Connie Jo Kirk from Austin, Texas, latin jazz, Celtic, South African jazz and Brazilian music with Geraldo Lucio.
At the moment I am a member of Los Multikultis (myspace). We play music from around the world: the Balkans, Cuba, Brazil, Indonesia etc.
I also love to travel to the areas where my favourite musical genres come from - like South Africa, Brazil, Ghana, Cuba, Scotland...
