With over 20 years of DJing experience, Safi is one of Egypt's household musical names. From gritty underground parties, to Cairo's top venues & a highly successful radio career, Safi has certainly played his part in the development of the music scene in Egypt.
Refusing to adhere to a certain "sound" or "genre', Safi is extremely comfortable switching between different musical styles, usually incorporating a diverse range of genres in his live sets. His signature sounds are a combination of earthy, organic Ethno-beats, with an emphasis on Oriental & Afro-Latin beats & melodies. He has been championing the incorporation of local oriental elements into dance music for the past several years, both in his live sets & radio work. He has spun alongside the likes of Nickodemus, Captain Planet, DRM, Nile Project, Crazy P, Jade, Britta, Unders, Be Svendsen, Yokoo, Satori & more. He happily performs solo, or as part of The Digital Monkeys, a live percussion & fire-spinning troupe
Safi is currently a resident at Egypt's most successful party brand Nacelle, spinning regularly at their "BSide"; a funk & soul weekly night in Cairo. He also carries a residency at El Gouna's Aurora; the premier club in the Red Sea region, and also performs monthly at the iconic Cairo Jazz Club, in addition to many of Egypt's top nightspots. He has also had the pleasure of performing around the World at clubs, venues and festivals in France, Austria, Dubai, London, Germany, Lebanon, Oman, Jordan & more.
You can also hear him every Sunday evening on Egypt's top Engish radio station 104.2 Nile FM, as he mixes, produces & presents "Nile Bazaar"; an eclectic showcase of Arabian influenced indie, rock, electronica & house music. A true "DJ's DJ", he his humble, easy-going & appreciates the fine art of a warm-up set, yet is ready to take the party into the early hours of the morning.
