The opening hour of Tangents features the Moroccan band Oudaden and an extended live track from Bill Frisell. The final two hours are a tribute to Wayne Shorter who died March 2. Post John Coltrane, Wayne was the most impactful saxophonist/composer in jazz and beyond. Wayne transcended jazz, especially during the 15 years he partnered with Joe Zawinul in Weather Report. Curt Bianchi, the author of the definitive book on Weather Report, "Elegant People: The History of the band Weather Report" is our special studio guest.
