World music on Radio Sraka - Radio Magpie in English - is a Slovenian radio program that started in december 1993 when I founded this radio with a lot of experiences from my previous work on Radio Student, Radio Glas Ljubljane and on Radio Slovenia, where I had a regular weekly live program called »World music on Val (Wave) 202«, even before the term world music was invented in show business. I have been a member of the World Charts Europe team since the very beginning and have a lot of LP and later CD records from my previous work so we decided to have on Monday evenings filled with the music that is not heard very much on the radios - world music, jazz, blues, folk, country... from all around the world. We pay attention to many music types and parts of the world, also to Asia, Africa, Spanish spoken world, Russian songs... We play WMCE chart every month, have interviews, present music of various countries, we pay great attention to Slovenian artists, too. Sometimes we combine my articles, published in various magazines about the festivals and the music from various countries, with the radio shows. We've been invited to prepare an hour of our music programme for the Radio Multicult.fm and we've been collaborating sucesfully since december 2012.
